Every dataset below is published by a federal or provincial custodian and used under that custodian's own terms. The portal records what each one holds, the ground it covers, and how it is obtained, so a result can be traced back to the data it rests on. Licence conditions are the custodian's and change without notice; they are read at the source rather than restated here.

How this catalogue is used
- Grouped by what they describe
- Datasets are filed by climate, hydrology, groundwater, and terrain rather than by who publishes them. Custodians reorganise and portals get renamed; what a dataset describes does not change.
- Reference, not investigation
- Open data supports exploration and the early framing of a problem. It is not a substitute for site-specific investigation, and a design decision is not taken on it alone.
- Attribution
- Attribution is carried wherever the data is displayed or redistributed, in the form the custodian requires.
